Our Bridging Task:
Once we completed our AS work we were given a bridging task. Our bridging task was to find a horror trailer as a group we liked and to mirror the trailer to the best of our ability. The trailer we chose to mirror was the Evil Dead (2013) trailer. We chose this trailer to mirror because we liked the paranormal side of it and the book. We learnt that in the trailer you needed a lot of footage to be able to make a good trailer as there are so many quick shots of scenes which are not very long. Therefore we are going to need a lot of footage to make a whole trailer.
Evil Dead Trailer (2013)
Why?
We chose this trailer to mirror in our bridging task because we all as a group loved the idea of dealing with the suspense of the horror and we thought it would be quite fun in itself to film. We also know that we could find a lot of locations which look similar and people to play the characters who look similar. Another reason we chose this trailer is because we liked the way the two genres were put together to make one which was paranormal and gore, the idea for our group was to put these two genres together in our own trailer so it was ideal as we could get an idea and understanding of how we would film for the real one. We liked the different use of editing through the trailer and the way it edited it as a whole, we also liked the way the devil which was inside the girl makes her own friends torture them self's to death. We liked this because we thought it was a good twist and was rather unique. Furthermore we loved the idea of copying this book and using it self in our trailer as it was different and allows us to put our own creative and original spin on things, which will make our horror movie teaser trailer unique and different.
